The Shetland Museum and Archives is located in Hays Dock in Lerwick.
The museum opened in May 2007 and has an extensive collection of exhibits and artefacts as well as archive resources.
The Shetland Museum and Archives is managed by the Shetland Amenity Trust, which also looks after Sumburgh Head Lighthouse, Bressay Lighthouse and Esha Ness Lighthouse.
Amongst its exhibits is the former optic from Bressay Lighthouse.
The museum also has a cafe.
