The maisonette cottages in Salveson Crescent, Edinburgh are very distinctive in design, typical of Northern Lighthouse Board buildings.

This row of cottages was the former shore station accommodation for families of Bass Rock, Bell Rock, Inchkeith, Fidra and later the Isle of May in 1972, after Fidra was automated in 1970.
The cottages are now privately owned.
