ToggleWin a copy of the next edition of Lighthouse Accommodation.
Iām looking for a really special lighthouse or lightship photograph for the front cover of the new edition of Lighthouse Accommodation.
Deadline: 30 October 2026

My Lighthouse Accommodation book is relaunching next year, and Iām looking for a cover photo that captures the character, setting, and atmosphere of lighthouse or lightship accommodation.
It could be a spectacular sunset, a dramatic coastal scene, an unusual perspective, a classic lighthouse view, or something completely different.
Whether you are a photography enthusiast, owner of lighthouse accommodation, a former guest, or just a lover of lighthouses, anyone can send in their photo.
If you have a photograph you think could make a great book cover, I want to see it!

I’m looking for a photograph that captures the personality of a lighthouse or lightship. The surrounding landscape, coastline, harbour or seascape can be just as important as the building itself. The atmosphere could include a sunrise, sunset, dramatic weather or calm seas.
Composition
The photograph needs to work as a portrait book cover, leaving enough space for the title and other cover text.
Quality
The higher the resolution, the better. If your photograph is shortlisted, I’ll contact you for the original/high-resolution version.

The front-cover photograph must feature a lighthouse or lightship accommodation in the UK or Ireland.
However, overseas photographs are also welcome and may be considered for other Lighthouse Accommodation promotional or editorial use.

Submit your entry or entries via the online form below, or contact me if you wish to send via email. Please include your email and telephone number.
If you own or manage lighthouse accommodation, you’re welcome to contact me directly. You may already have the perfect photograph ā or perhaps access to a special viewpoint.
Please remember
Lighthouse accommodation properties are often on private land. Please do not trespass, and seek permission where necessary. Please respect the privacy of occupants.
If using drone photography, please ensure you have permission where necessary and adhere to the Drone Code.

Who owns the photograph?
Your photograph must be your own work, or you must have permission from the photographer to submit it.
Where must the lighthouse be?
The front-cover photograph must feature a lighthouse or lightship accommodation in the UK or Ireland.
What happens if my photograph is shortlisted?
I’ll contact you to request the original/high-resolution version and confirm the photographer’s details and permission to use it.
Can my photograph be edited?
Photographs may be cropped or adapted as necessary to work with the book cover design.
Where might my photograph appear?
Submitted photographs may also be considered for the Lighthouse Accommodation website, newsletter and social media channels, with appropriate credit given where possible.
What happens to my copyright?
Copyright remains with the photographer.
Will every photograph be used?
No. Submission does not guarantee that a photograph will be selected or published.

I can’t wait to see what you’ve got!
Thanks for entering, and good luck ā and please share this appeal with other lighthouse lovers who might have the perfect shot.
